Cookie Policy

This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies dynamicsconnect.net uses, what they do, and how you can manage your choice.

It supplements our Privacy Policy and forms an integral part of our Terms and Conditions.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. On your next visit the browser sends the file back, which allows the site to recognise you.

Alongside cookies we also use browser local storage (`localStorage`). It works in a similar way, but the data stays entirely on your device and is not sent to the server automatically with every request. For brevity, both technologies are referred to as "cookies" in this document.

2. Our approach

We load nothing that is not needed.

On your first visit you see a consent bar. Until you make a choice, no analytics or marketing script is loaded at all. Google Analytics is not fetched in advance and then "hidden" — it simply does not exist on the page until you consent.

Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent, because the site cannot function without them. This is permitted under Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC and Article 4a of the Bulgarian Electronic Commerce Act.

3. The categories we use

3.1. Strictly necessary

These cannot be switched off. They are not used for tracking.

  • `cookie-consent` (local storage, until deleted) — stores your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every visit.
  • `language` (local storage, until deleted) — remembers whether you are reading the site in Bulgarian or English.
  • `__Secure-next-auth.session-token` (cookie, 24 hours) — the sign-in session for the administration panel. It is set only after a member of the Organiser's staff signs in successfully. Ordinary visitors never receive it.
  • `next-auth.csrf-token` and `next-auth.callback-url` (cookies, session duration) — protection against request forgery when signing in to the administration panel.

Legal basis: legitimate interest — providing a service you have expressly requested, and securing access to it.

3.2. Analytics — consent only

  • `_ga` (cookie, 2 years) and `_ga_<identifier>` (cookie, 2 years) — Google Analytics 4. They distinguish visitors and hold session state so we can see which pages are used and how to improve them.

Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymisation (`anonymize_ip`). We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing or building ad audiences.

3.3. Marketing

This category exists in the consent bar, but we currently load no marketing or advertising cookies whatsoever. Should that change, we will update this policy and ask for your consent again.

4. Third-party cookies

  • Stripe — card payments are completed in Stripe's own environment. Stripe sets its own cookies for fraud detection and to make the payment work. They are set on Stripe's domain, not ours, and are necessary to carry out the payment. See Stripe's privacy policy.
  • YouTube — pages for past and upcoming editions may embed a background video. We use the no-cookie mode (`youtube-nocookie.com`), under which YouTube sets no tracking cookies until you start playback.

We use no social network pixels, chat widgets or advertising networks.

5. Managing your choice

5.1. On our site

At the bottom of every page there is a "Cookie settings" link. It brings the consent bar back and lets you change or withdraw your consent at any time.

Withdrawing consent stops any further collection by Google Analytics. You can delete already-stored `_ga` cookies from your browser settings.

5.2. In your browser

Every browser allows you to delete cookies and block third-party cookies:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Note that blocking all cookies will prevent the administration panel from working and will make the site ask you for language and consent on every visit.

5.3. Opting out of Google Analytics

You can install Google's official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

6. Changes

If we add a new cookie or a new provider, we will update this policy and raise the consent version so that your choice is asked for again.
